European Commission’s Conference on the Second REACH Review

REACH regulation

Sound implementation of the REACH Regulation is particularly important to ensure the protection of human health and the environment, to promote alternatives to animal testing and to ensure the free movement of chemicals on the EU market.

The recent second review of the REACH Regulation concludes that the legislation is fit for purpose. However, as illustrated by discussions reporting on in the briefing, there are further actions needed to improve its implementation, in the quality of registration dossiers submitted by companies, to simplify the overall authorisation process and to ensure a level playing field between EU and non-EU companies.
