Pension Schemes Bill - a briefing following its Second Reading on September 2 2014
The Budget 2014 saw major reforms to UK's pension arrangements. Declared as the most ‘radical shake-up’ the pensions industry has seen in decades, the controversial changes pro-posed in the Pension Schemes Bill are based on current schemes used in the Netherlands and Scandinavia. Whilst the reforms are intended to give pensioners greater choice and value for their money, it will be interesting to see the debate between the government and its critics as the Bill goes forward.
The Briefing covers main features of the Bill and includes stakeholder comments.
